A tender chocolate-banana oat cake – no sugar and no wheat flour! Natural sweetness from ripe bananas, rich cocoa flavor, and crunchy toasted hazelnuts and sesame seeds.
Recipe for cooking and ingredients:
• 1⅕ cups rolled oats (120 g / 4.2 oz)
• 1¼ cups milk (250 ml / 8.4 fl oz)
• 2 ripe bananas
• 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 eggs
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• 2 tbsp hazelnuts – toast and coarsely chop
• 2 tbsp sesame seeds – toast
Pan:
• Baking dish greased with oil + parchment on bottom
• 180 °C (360 °F) — 45 minutes
Instructions
1. Place 1⅕ cups rolled oats in a baking dish.
2. Add 1¼ cups milk and mix well.
3. Peel 2 ripe bananas and mash with a fork.
4. Add mashed bananas + 4 tbsp cocoa + 1 tbsp baking powder.
5. Whisk 2 eggs and add to the mixture.
6. Lightly toast 2 tbsp hazelnuts and 2 tbsp sesame seeds on a skillet.
7. Coarsely chop hazelnuts, add toasted seeds and nuts to the batter.
8. Mix thoroughly – the batter should be thick and aromatic.
9. Decorate the top with extra oats or nuts.
10. Bake at 180 °C for 45 minutes (toothpick test).
11. Let cool and enjoy!
Serving & Storage
• Serve warm or cooled – best with yogurt or tea.
• Keeps in the fridge up to 5 days.
Tips
• For more sweetness – add stevia or erythritol.
• Add orange zest or vanilla for extra flavor.
• Calories per slice ≈ 180–220 kcal.
