This majestic and passionate piece expresses a youthful determination to soar towards greater heights. Through novel harmony, counterpoint and orchestration, the piece ventures beyond the Chinese orchestra’s conventional sonic palette. It weaves together Chinese melodic idioms, Western classical composition techniques like the fugue, and echoes of pop music. This synthesis offers a vision of a young generation that honours tradition while embracing innovation in a globalised society.
